Mosaic Fashions to acquire Rubicon Retail for £353m

Don McCarthy CEO of Rubicon Retail added: "We believe this is an excellent opportunity to merge two strong fashion Groups with complementary brands. Both management teams have significant experience of integrating brands into their businesses and the enlarged group would have successful and differentiated fashion clothing and footwear brands, excellent prospects for further growth and for enhancing value for shareholders."
Rubicon Retail is a diversified multi-branded, multi-fascia fashion group which retails clothing, footwear and accessories in the UK and internationally. It currently has 817 outlets, most of them in the UK and Ireland and employs 6,404 people across the Group.
Mosaic Fashions hf is the parent company of four successful design led fashion womenswear brands: Oasis, Karen Millen, Coast and Whistles. It operates 633 stores and concessions, mainly in the UK and Ireland, but also in the rest of Europe and the USA. It has 105 franchise stores in 23 countries worldwide, and 70 department store concessions in China through a joint venture. It employs over 6,500 employees.
