Children's clothing retailer Du Pareil au Même (DPAM) reported results for financial year 2005.

Business increase
Sales for the financial year come to 131.9 M€, up 6.0 percent.

This trend reflects not only an increase in France (+ 2.5 percent), outstripping the market
(- 1.5 percent, source: CTCOE), but also and above all it highlights strong growth in the international sector (+ 19.6 percent).

The main points for satisfaction come from Spain and Italy, which showed strong increases (respectively + 50.9 percent and + 32.7 percent), thus confirming Du Pareil Au Même's substantial potential in the Southern European countries.

Markedly higher profitability
The current operating profit more than doubles, from 3.9 to 8.1 M€. It represents 6.1 percent of sales compared with 3.1 percent the previous financial year.

This improvement bears witness, on one hand, to the continued improvement of margins on purchases, and on the other hand to the good behaviour displayed by the main types of operating charges, thus attesting to the effectiveness of the rationalisation and optimisation measures adopted.

The operating profit, on its part, increases from 4.9 to 7.2 M€ (+ 47.2 percent) and net income from 2.3 to 4.1 M€ (+ 74.1 percent).

These figures include an amount of 0.9 M€ in non-recurrent charges, mainly connected with the (unsuccessful) merger project between Du Pareil Au Même and Orchestra-Kazibao (0.6 M€). Conversely, the results for financial year 2004 included non-recurrent profits from the disposal of stores and of the registered office (0.9 M€).
