Mr Kishore Biyani, MD, Future group (India) Limited, said that such Vendor partnership fairs are now an integral part of the value engineering strategy at the company and it will also foster a sense of participation and ownership amongst the suppliers whose contribution is an important factor for the success of the company.
SAATHI – The vendor fair is being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 21st – 23rd of July . The fair provides a single-window opportunity for the new vendors who are eager to join the retail revolution and ride on the growing footprint of Future Group to acquire a pan-Indian presence.
Over the three days, vendors will get a chance to interact with the various category managers from the head office of the company, get on the spot registrations and freeze the commercial terms. It is estimated that over 100 category managers from the company are to arrive at New Delhi to meet the vendors
Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Rajan Malhotra, Head, Big Bazaar said, “The main aim of organising such an event is to create and develop a community of vendors who will partner Future group in its ambitious growth story. Optimising inventory, save time and costs, transparency in procurement are all expected to result in huge savings in costs, whose benefits will be passed on to customers in terms of lower prices, wider range and better quality products.”
The fair will have representatives from the group's Consumer Fund – INDIVISION to identify brands and companies, which can be invited for a strategic alliance with the group. The fair is expected to get over 100 new vendors into the Pantaloon suppliers community, with an expected business of approximately Rupees 1500 crores in the first year itself.
