Designs by Lakshmi Subramaniam and Rahul Mishra, belonging to National Institute of Design (NID), will be displayed at the World of Wearable Art competition organised by New Zealand's Tourism Ministry along with prestigious World of Wearable Art and Classic Cars Museum, situated in Nelson city.

Among the eleven entries, three were chosen, of which two belonged to NID.

Both Lakshmi and Rahul are scheduled to fly to New Zealand in September as part of a package tour where they will present their concept behind their creations to the designers belonging to all parts of the world.

Designs based on sun-sign Cancer and the torture created by fashion, try to catch the idea of fashion and to break free from the commercial aspect.

It caught the attention of officials of New Zealand Ministry of Tourism and Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) who had come calling at NID to encourage students to participate in the competition.
