Halfords achieved markedly higher turnover while the number of shops was unchanged. As a result, turnover of the Automotive & Telecom sector amounted to €149.6 million, compared with €140.6 million in 2005 (+ 6.4 percent).

Thanks to a considerably higher operating result on comparable activities and a positive effect of the acquisition of Scapino, net profit for the first half of 2006 is expected to be more than 50 percent higher than in the first six months of 2005, when net profit amounted to €9.7 million.

Given the exceptionally good development in the second half of 2005, the Group consider it premature to make any forecast at this moment concerning turnover and result for the second half of 2006 compared to the last 6 months of 2005.

The turnover figures and results have not been audited.

The half-year results for 2006 will be published before the opening of the stock exchange on August 31st 2006. On the same day, they will also be presented at an analysts' meeting and a press conference at 9.30 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. respectively in the Okura Hotel, Amsterdam.
