Expenditure in May on Kimono's (Yukata included) was at 178 JYen, and rose to 643 JYen in June, revealing the high demand for Yukata on a yearly basis.
What become of interest in this season are the strengths of brand awareness and brand preferences. For both swimsuits and Yukata brands that do not specialize in these items enter the market.
Japanese consumers could be one of the most loyal customers to a brand and when they have found a brand they prefer amongst others, they will purchase full styles from the brands.
That is where the demand lies and this season allows the market to see which brands are flourishing; as if they are a popular brand, they are bound to create their own swimsuit line or a Yukata line.
