The animation industry of Japan is popular world wide and the fashion featured on these “animes” are also becoming more popular. The Japan Expo held in Paris proves this, with visitors coming in costumes/ outfits. But the difference between these “anime” fans dressing up and the “fairies” of Harajuku is that the outfits are a daily wear.
The extreme taste introduced at Tokyo Fashion Week is to the foreigners too extreme, but to the Japanese is reality of what is to be on the streets. The unreal world is what is influencing the real fashion in the streets of Tokyo.
Some people call these “Costume Play” others call it “Fashionable”, whatever it is it is a growing trend and is a trend to keep an eye on.
