The fifth edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week proves the city's potential as a fashion destination.
Over 10.000 buyers, editors, stylists and other professionals visited the 15 official schedule Spring Summer presentations at the AIFW catwalk venue (upgraded to accommodate 700 seats and world-class backstage facilities).
Highlights included shows by Mart Visser Collection, Blue Blood, G-star, Percy Irausquin and Daryl van Wouw.
Contrary to many pan-European competitors, trade fairs Modefabriek and Label Expo attracted record crowds of over 15.000. AIFW is pleased to report a strong increase in interest from foreign news-, trade- and lifestyle media.
AIFW was founded in 2004 to highlight Amsterdam's international potential as an inspiring destination for fashion.
It combines both cultural and commercial events. This season saw the launch of a new public programme called Laundry Days.
Exhibitions, shows, presentations, film screenings, lectures and parties in over 40 venues around town attracted huge interest.
“Don't Feed The Models – the official soundtrack” was launched to celebrate the fifthe edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week.
The soundtrack was mixed by DJ Monte La Rue and features top acts from the contemporary electronic music scene, like Kraak en Smaak en Telepopmusik.
