Haute couture designer Sylvia Owori is to partner with the giant mobile phone handset makers, Motorola in a close collaboration entitled MotoCouture with Sylvia Owori.
This is Sylvia's first show in Uganda in two years and it is to be held at the newly renovated and refurbished Serena Conference Center in Kampala on 14th October, 2006. The show will take place in front of an expected audience of over 1500 who will include followers of fashion including key figures in entertainment, media, society, the arts and politics.
MotoCouture with Sylvia Owori will celebrate Sylvia bringing to her home country the different collections she has designed for fashion events throughout Africa. The show will be a retrospective of the collections she has created for various events such as Cape Town Fashion Week, Kenya Fashion Week, the Face of Africa competitions etc.
Sylvia will also be presenting a colorful and feminine new line for the first time named "The Fantasy Collection", as well as an exclusive MotoCouture outfit, a surprise collaboration with the famous mobile handset company.
Sylvia says of the collaboration, “This is the first time in two years that I have had a chance to work on a collection for my label and launch it in an exciting and spectacular way! I have been designing and showcasing my collections all over the continent in the past years and I feel ready to put up a show of international standards here in Uganda.”
