To indicate long-awaited arrival of Goddess Lakshmi, small footprints Lakshmi Padh are drawn with rice flour and vermilion powder all over the houses.
Lamps are kept burning all through the night. On this day which is considered to be auspicious women purchase some gold or silver or at least one or two new utensils. “Lakshmi-Puja” is performed in the evenings when tiny diyas of clay are lighted to drive away evil spirits.
The Doors and windows of the house are supposed to be left open in the North with “Diya” burning so that the Goddess should visit them in the night and feel welcome.
Tanishq has over the years become an integral part of millions of Indian households and this Dhanteras; Tanishq presents customers across the country an opportunity to greet prosperity with jewellery designs that signify success and abundance.
