Skhuaban enters French & Italian markets

Skhuaban, the fashion format for kids of the Inditex Group, has launched its first stores in Italy and France, and is already present in five European countries.

The first two openings in Italy have taken place in Cremona and Busto Arsizio (both in the northern region of Lombardía), whereas the first Skhuaban store in France has opened in Evry (Paris region). The format also opens a second store in Greece, where Skhuaban extended its commercial presence in July.

Following a similar strategy to that maintained in Spain (where the chain operates under the brand name Kiddy's Class), Skhuaban launches its stores in small and medium size cities and in the shopping areas of large cities where Zara can not be present, or where the fashion offer for kids of the current stores can be supplemented.

This format has 176 stores in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy and France, being all of them markets where the Group has an important commercial presence.

The first Kiddy's Class store opened in Spain in 1991 and the figures generated by said stores were part of the Zara format. In 2002 the Group decided to reinforce its presence in the segment of fashion for kids with the development of Kiddy's Class as an independent chain. In 2005, its turnover rose 29% to 155 million euros, representing 2.3% of the Inditex Group's turnover.
