Men's formalwear market in India is worth almost Rs10,000-crore, but over 85 percent of the customers choose to get their suits stitched to detail.
Recognizing this trend in domestic market, many apparel companies offer readymade work-wear shirts and suit-fabrics under the same brand.
Recently S Kumars Nationwide introduced Belmont brand for suiting material and RTW garments.
“It will take India almost more than a decade for complete switchover to RTW like other developed economies. Though this (RTW) is getting significant conversions from customers who earlier preferred the whole suit to be customised,” opines Tarun Joshi, CEO, Brand House Retail.
However, surveys prove that the interest in readymade suiting is growing a healthy rate that promises an optimistic future.
