Fred celebrates 70th anniversary with launch of Move 1 GMT watch

To celebrate its 70th anniversary Fred launches its first automatic complication watch: the Move 1 GMT. The GMT resembles the Chrono Move 1: with graphical, rounded lines, an opulent 41 mm case and a two-tone face. The Chrono's quartz movement has been replaced with an automatic 310-calibre Dubois-Depraz movement.

The GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) function allows the reading of a second time zone thanks to an additional orange hand on the face.

For esthetic reasons, the push buttons that set the second time zone and date are integrated into the case structure, making them almost invisible.

The Move 1 GMT also has a turning, single-direction crenulated bezel with twenty steel teeth for perfect control of diving time. The screwed crown and case base guarantee optimum watertightness to one hundred metres underwater. The scratch-proof sapphire glass lets the quality of the movements finishing shine through, especially the balance-wheel engraved with the codes of the House.

The watch's modern look and sharp design are underlined by the combination of brushed and polished steel used in the case and the wristband and by the orange indicators for the second time zone and date.

To commemorate its 70th anniversary Fred has designed a special edition of the Move 1 GMT in steel and diamonds. Limited to 70 numbered timepieces, this exclusive edition is presented in a leather collector's case. The Move 1 GMT is dedicated to stylish and sporty nomads, who, like the founder Fred Samuel, travel all around the world looking for true emotion and big thrills.

In 1995 the FRED House joined the LVMH Group and started the second chapter of its history.
