One week before the official Fat Tuesday celebration hits New Orleans, MAGIC and Joseph Abboud will bring the party to Las Vegas with a Mardi Gras-inspired opening night party featuring the legendary Neville Brothers. The festivities will take place on February 13 in the Tower Ballroom at the Bellagio Hotel, and proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH). The New York Times, Primary Color and Design Tonic are also sponsoring the event.
MAGIC has committed funds to build at least one home for a New Orleans-area family, with the hopes to raise money for more homes through additional fundraising activities. For the first time ever, MAGIC will raise funds beyond opening night party ticket sales with donation booths in the Grand Lobby throughout the show's four-day run and a silent auction at the opening night event.
“More than a year later, New Orleans is still recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina,” said Chris McCabe, Vice President and General Manager, MAGIC International. “Many MAGIC attendees have been impacted by this catastrophic event, and we've found many ways to help those communities since the storms. Through this new partnership with NOAHH, MAGIC will continue to support the redevelopment of New Orleans.”
MAGIC and Joseph Abboud will also host a silent auction during the opening night event, with all proceeds benefiting NOAHH. The silent auction will feature items from a number of donors and will also include signed memorabilia from the Neville Brothers and Joseph Abboud products including sportswear, tailored clothing, jeans, outerwear, rainwear, formalwear, loungewear, small leather goods/accessories, gloves, and footwear.
