TMaG, the world's leading producer of golf equipment, came to China in 2005 and since then has set itself apart from all other competitors in the field. It has been guided by a unique vision for developing its business in China that combines brand development with a genuine desire to contribute to the growth of the sport itself.

For TMaG, the agreement is another landmark in the journey towards realizing that vision. Over the last year, that journey has seen TMaG supporting the efforts of China's most talented golfers in a number of high-profile competitions, including the US-China Friendship Cup in July 2006 and the Buddha Cup in August 2006, as well as sponsoring several top players on the China Tour. It is a journey that has been defined by TMaG's dedication to helping the growth of golf in China.

“We've always said that the yardstick for our success here in China should not be the amount of TaylorMade-adidas golf products we sell,” said Dennis Allen at the signing ceremony. “Rather, our efforts should be measured by the level of meaningful contributions we make to the game of golf in this country.”

"We want to be a major player in the creation of a golfing culture around the country. We want to bring our passion for the game to China's sports fans, and we want to help them enjoy the game as much as we do.”

As part of its desire to contribute to the game in China, TMaG has also committed to supporting a number of young, local golfers. Under the agreement, TMaG will provide junior-level talents with the financial and practical backing they need to fulfill their potential.

It may only be 23 years since the first golf course opened in this country, but China already boasts millions of golfers and golf fans, with many more promising young enthusiasts taking up the game every year.

The China Golf Association was founded on May 24, 1985 with the goal of setting a direction for golf in China, and furthering the development of the game.

In 2006, as part of China's build-up for the Doha Asian Games, the China Golf Association established the first ever National Golf Team.
