Triumph International India Private Limited announced the launch of a brand new factory in Sengundram Village, Chennai at a press briefing. The announcement was made by Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, Country Head & General Manager, Triumph International India Pvt. Ltd. Triumph International, a German company, has numerous factories all over the world and India is now home to the latest.
Mr. Thorsten Allenstein, Country Head, Triumph International India Pvt Ltd said, "We are extremely excited about India being the latest addition to house a futuristic production centre. The new facility and its production will match its counterparts worldwide through extensive research, constant innovation, latest technologies, charismatic designs and trendy looks. Triumph's range has been specifically selected and designed based on the bodies and lifestyles of Indian women".
The new factory will be set on 14 acres of land and cover about 4 lakh sq ft. The factory will start commercial production by end 2007.
"One of the primary reasons for locating a factory here is to be close to the next big thing – Indian being the subsequent growth market to China. Organised retailing is expected to boom in the next few years and this will lead to the growth of our brand. Triumph's goal is to expand the women's innerwear category by offering the same high quality, fashionable, comfortable and durable products as abroad at affordable prices ," he added.
About 80 per cent of the products manufactured in the factory in Chennai will be exported, while the rest would be for the domestic market.
The company has selected Chennai due to good infrastructure with proximity to airport, seaport, highways and an investor-friendly Government. Chennai also has a good labour base with experience in the readymade garment industry. Another factor is the high female unemployment rate in Tamil Nadu. With over four thousand employees mostly females, we will be giving many of those females the chance of a better living.
