Louis Vuitton plans to set up corporate office

KOLKATA:
Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), the international luxury brand, may possibly set up a corporate office in India this year.
This step may be to explore new vistas as well as overseeing its present operations.
LVMH has two offices each in Mumbai and Delhi for its watches and jewellery brands and wines and spirits businesses in India.
The company is contemplating bringing in Sephora, its branded-perfume retail chain to India.
Sephora, along with DFS, the retailer for international travellers, are both part of LVMH's selective retailing business.
Reports say that luxury group DFS is in talks with real estate group DLF to set up malls in India ranging from 1 to 2.5 lakh sq ft area.
LVMH may enter into India within a couple of years-on a joint venture of 49 percent with a local partner.
DFS, one of the bidders for duty free retail at Mumbai's new international airport, had also put out bid for Delhi airport but lost to Alpha Future.
LVMH
may also bring in about 5-6 Christian Dior boutiques to India. Currently only one operates out of Oberoi Delhi.
Christian Dior boutiques retail fashion accessories, jewellery and leather bags.
