The search for India's future ramp scorchers has ended! Meet the 23 models short listed from the All-India model auditions for the WIFW 'New Faces Going Places' category. They are young, confident and ready to take on the fashion world at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week from March 21- 26, 2007.
After facing the gruelling competition at the auditions, only those with style, panache and grit were short listed by the jury comprising Aki Narula, Arjun Khanna, Nayanika Chaterjee, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal, Rohit Gandhi, Vidyun Singh and Vijay Arora.
16 female models and 7 male models have been short listed as part of the 'New Faces Going Places' category for the WIFW A/W 2007 Showcase. These innately stylish models along with 36 top models would be donning garments designed by the stalwarts of the fashion industry at WIFW.
Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCI, said, “The fashion industry in India is growing from strength to strength and creating a niche for itself internationally – so is the demand for new models. Over the years, we have seen our New Faces become international supermodels, faces of global beauty brands and designers' muses. WIFW has always been a platform to showcase established talent, but one that also nurtures and promotes new talent. The models are an integral part of the fashion industry and key players in making the business of fashion a success. I wish each of them success as they expand their horizons by participating in WIFW and beyond.”
