NEW DELHI:
The ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week concluded with designers Jatin Verma, Renu Tandon, Aki Narula, Gaurav Gupta and Gunjan and Rahul, Rathore, Monapali and Ashish Soni exhibiting their collections on the ramp.

Manish Arora was liked by almost all bigwigs of industry and was considered winner of entire fashion week with his alien theme and psychedelic designs.

Monapali, specialising in textures presented combinations of tussar silk with matting, jute and thread-work creating a nice line of black on black mixing gauzy organza with silk and heavy embroidery and texture at sleeves on skirts and at necklines.

Ashish N Soni played interestingly with weights of fabrics, making wool light-weight and adding weight to silk and taffeta by lining them. He also used viscose, velvet, cashmere and fur in colours ranging from berry to squirrel to champagne in interesting ways.

Gaurav Gupta's creation was subtly classic with his collection of Grecian drapes in jersey in rich colours involving little gold work along with leather embroidery were considered especially noteworthy.

Rathore's collection was his usual trademark of wearable, beautifully structured shirts, skirts, jackets, and trousers for men and women. His creations of knee-length silk tunics teamed with narrow skirts or pants would be acceptable by the chic set.

Varun Bahl's collection 'Order In Disorder' were swinging and voluminous silhouettes in sober colours of beige, moss green and blacks.

Designer Jaisingh's stylish garments with innovative embroidery techniques received a good response.

"We have kept the sixth day March 26, just for business as some designers who had their shows on the last day complained they did not get enough time to conduct business after they had showcased their collection on the ramp. The sixth day is purely for serious business," said FDCI Chairman Rathi Vinay Jha.
