Estimated footwear export earnings for entire 2007 stand at around US $4 billion, adding over $3.5 billion to that of 2006.
Leather and Footwear Association (Lefaso) informed today that Vietnam expected to reach $918 million in shoe exports in the first quarter this year, representing a growth of nearly 14 percent from the same period last year.
Vietnam has targets footwear export revenue of $6.2-6.5 billion by 2010.
Exporters are penetrating the traditional EU, US and Japan markets further and are also exploring new markets of Malaysia, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Russia.
