SEPIA is a chapter pulled out from the Vintage scrapbooks of yesteryears… It is not only a tint, tone or shade….But also stands as a metaphor for "Journey, a passage of time that is imbibed in our garments and styled into a way of living."

In collaboration with Texport Syndicate, one of the largest Clothing Exporters in the country, Priyadarshini Rao launched her Pret Brand SEPIA in August 2006,through a flagship store in Mumbai.

"He philosophy of SEPIA can be summed up as "Grown-up-style line of clothing with a distinct language, crafted with a sophisticated edge, carrying an essence of the old world charm with slightly quirky fashion."

With this Lakme Fashion Week, Sepia moves to the level of Luxury Pret with a Fresh line of Resort wear, under the signature'Priyadarshini Rao for Sepia. This premium brand will retail out of select Sepia stores.

A transitional collection that lends itself to both day and evening with alarming simplicity. The inspiration is an English watercolour that brings to mind vivid images of the seaside, soft vegetation and a somewhat overcast sky.

Fluid silks and georgettes are cut into luxurious silhouettes, with quirky detailing. Satin stripes, watercolour prints, burnouts, habutai silks are set off with denims and jersey to create a look that is at once easy and yet very rich.

Detailing include various textures created from yarns and fabrics, appliqués,satin tapes, etc. These do not overwhelm the ensembles, instead just add a touch of interest.

The silhouettes are grown up, with accents at the waist and necklines.Surprising separates are thrown together to create a look and simple dresses find pride of place.

The idea is to create a colour coded wardrobe where every separate compliments the other. The colour palette evokes quietude.

It slides from sand, to reed yellows ,moving on to pale aqua and teals that finally end in rich plantation browns and charcoal.
