Damas, one of the largest jewellery retail chains in the world announced its special 'Damas Akshaya Trithaya Auspicious Offer” starting from April 9 – April 19, 2007. The 'Damas Akshaya Trithaya Auspicious Offer' entitles customers to an exclusive Damas pearl necklace on pre-booking of jewellery before 18th April.
The Akshaya Trithaya falls on the third day in the bright fortnight of Hindu month Vaishakh. The sun and moon are believed, astrologically, to be at their most exalted brightness that day. It's also the birthday of Mahavishnu's sixth avatar, Parashurama.
Our ancestors passed on the belief that with such good vibrations in the universe, any project or relationship begun that day would be long lasting ('Akshaya' means 'eternal'). Akshaya Trithaya has come to be known as "gold purchasing day” and it is said that "any gold bought on this day will multiply several times".
Akshaya Trithaya is a day considered by the Hindus as an auspicious period for the purchase of gold as a welcome expression of measure for wealth and happiness.
Says Mr. Anaggh Desai – CEO Damas India, “Traditionally, Indian women all over the world are extremely fond of jewellery.
