Similarly, the figures at this edition confirm the highly international character of the fair, an event that welcomed foreign buyers from the leading foreign markets, as well as from other countries that doubled their attendance figures compared to the previous year such as Estonia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Romania, Turkey, Gabon, Ethiopia, Egypt, Lebanon and New Zealand.
More Than One Thousand High-Quality Brands: SIPIEL, which is made up of MODACALZADO, the International Footwear Trade Fair, and IBERPIEL MARROQUINERÍA, featured the participation of nearly 700 companies from 15 countries throughout the world. The net exhibition area came to 33,700 square metres, distributed throughout Halls 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 at Feria de Madrid.
MODACALZADO featured the participation of prestigious international brands such as Givenchy, Sonia Rykiel, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Kenzo, Moschino, Pertegaz or Pierre Cardin, and national and international footwear brands of international stature such as Farrutx, Pedro Garcia, Ras, Magrit, Lottusse, Pons Quintana, Sara Navarro, Barrats, Castaner, Jaime Mascaro or Pura Lopez. In total, nearly 600 companies occupied a net exhibition area measuring more than 29,000 square metres.
The presence of these leading Spanish and foreign brands at MODACALZADO was highly valued by the participating exhibitors, given that this aspect attracted a number of important buyers to the fair. This much was expressed by Ivan Garcia Moron, the Head of Design at Callaghan, for whom "the participation of a number of important brands means that professionals come to visit the exhibition as a whole and not any one brand in particular".
This aspect was also highlighted by Vicente Pastor, the Marketing Manager at Rebeca Sanver, for whom the fair "has raised its standard over the last 4 or 5 years and now presents a high-quality event based on a good general exhibition. Our customers also consider it to be a good trade forum compared to other European events, due to the quality of the collections and due to the fact that it is not excessively large and can be toured more easily."
