Katrina Kaif launches Lakme Sun Expert range of products

With the sun scorching down on us this summer, Katrina Kaif the face of Lakme unveiled the secret to protection from sun damage at the Lakme Fashion Week.
At a special event to launch the Lakme Sun Expert range of products, Katrina was joined by Dermatologist & Cosmetologist –Dr. Malavika Kohli, Make up Artist - Cory Wallia and Honorable Secretary of the Indian Cancer Society - Dr. Arun Kurkure. Lakme set the context to address the harmful effects of sun damage caused by the UV rays of the sun. This was further highlighted by Dr. Kohli, Dr. Kurkure & Cory Wallia.
Speaking to the media Lakme face Katrina Kaif said, “Every time you step outdoors, your skin faces sun damage. The harsh rays of the sun penetrate your skin, as you innocently go out shopping or are on your way to work. Over time, your skin begins to darken, blemish & wrinkles appear like uninvited guests.”
Speaking on the occasion, leading dermatologist Dr. Malavika Kohli said, “The sun is an essential part of our well being and it is important to get adequate sun exposure for Vitamin D. However, over exposure to the UV rays of the sun cause irreparable damage to the skin.
In fact, just a few minutes spent in the sun, unprotected, can cause a lifetime of regret- wrinkling, premature aging, sun spots, darkening & in extreme cases severe skin disorders. It is therefore important to protect our skin always.
Further, it is a misconception that sun damage occurs only in the summer months; protection from the UV rays of the sun is a year round phenomenon & a sunscreen with SPF 15 is a basic requirement for the Indian woman in her daily routine.
