Gap Inc announced it will open a Banana Republic store in Mapleview Shopping Centre. The 6,972 sq. ft. store will open on July 9, 2007, marking the company's first Banana Republic store in Burlington and surrounding area.

Banana Republic, which currently has over 500 stores and annual sales of more than $2 billion in North America, is known for offering modern interpretations of classic fashion for women and men through elevated design and luxurious fabrications at affordable prices. The Mapleview Shopping Centre opening marks Banana Republic's 28th store in Canada.
