GERRY WEBER International AG continued the positive trend of the first three months of 2006/2007 also in the second quarter of the current fiscal year (ending October 31). In the first half of the fiscal year 2006/2007, the fashion and lifestyle company reported a 12.5 percent increase in sales and a 13.8 percent rise in EBIT as compared to the previous year.
These figures impressively highlight the company's sales and earnings projections for the full year. “We have set ourselves clear targets for 2006/2007 - sales of EUR 500 million and a double-digit EBIT margin”, said Gerhard Weber, Chairman of the Managing Board.
“The excellent results of the first six months show that we have done our homework. With incoming orders for the 3rd programme up by 23.2 percent and total orders for the three programmes of the Autumn/Winter collection up by 14.5 percent, the second half of the year will certainly be equally successful.”
In the first six months of 2006/2007, total sales were up by 12.5 percent on the previous year's EUR 210.4 million to EUR 236.7 million. Brand sales increased by 9.8 percent. Growing by 15.3 percent, the GERRY WEBER brand once again underlined its outstanding importance.
The brand's share in total sales climbed to 70.9 percent, which is not least attributable to the fast-growing sublabels: GERRY WEBER Edition contributed roughly 25 percent to the core brand's sales. The single-item line has developed so successfullythat the first dedicated GERRY WEBER Edition stores have been opened.
