Like most businesses, jewellery retail and manufacturing too has its share of human resource crunch. “More than salary, it is the love and care you give that binds them to you ,” he says, sharing his secrets of HR management. The employees are mostly from his home town, Thrissur, a centre of gold manufacturing and business.
He, however, admits that he trouble finding staff for his new showrooms. “The youth have many job avenues now. They are no longer interested in gold business alone,” he says.
Will Joy Alukkas opt for a brand ambassador once he upgrades the retail chain's profile in India? He doesn't give a definite answer.
But for jewellery with the tag of 'world's favorite jeweller', the brand ambassador can't be a small personality. Will it be the Bib B or the Big Khan? One has to wait and see.
