Brazil was present for the first time, through the Texbrasil Program created by ABIT in partnership with APEX-Brasil, at the CPM - Collection Premiére Moscow fair, held in Russia from September 4-7.

Eight brands exhibited the pieces from their new collections and looked for contacts that would permit them to win the Russian market.

The participating companies were ADJI – Menswear; Biquíni Brasil, Mabel Magalhães, Márcia Ganem, Bia Brazil, PXC, Lucidez and Comini Fasano. There were a total of 700 stands with 1300 brands. The fair's had a total of 50 thousand square meters in space.

The Brazilian companies made 158 contacts, including buyers from the country and from Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Italy, Azerbaijan and France.

Business volume totaled approximately US$ 100 thousand and the brands expect it to reach US$ 730 thousand over the next 12 months.

Brazilian participation in the fair's spring-summer edition, which will be held September 9-12, 2008, is already part of Texbrasil Program's schedule for next year.

“Like I thought, the Russian market is very promising, especially in the luxury segment. The fair was a true tool for us to find out what products please the country's population."

"In the mid-term, we will adapt our creations, which, I think, will ensure good results,” says Márcia Ganem, director of the company that bears her name.

“We were able to sign with a representative in Russia, which is very good, since he will finalize the sales with the contacts we make there,” says Márcia Azzi, of Lucidez.

“When we go to a country we don't know anything about, the fair serves to learn more about their culture and how they work. We made some important contacts and we are already making a catalog in the Cyrillic language."

Like in all countries, sales will begin with samples, which we will send over the coming days to three customers, says Beatriz Dockhorn, of Bia Brazil Fitness.
