Arjun Agarwal an upcoming designer and a graduate from Australia is showcasing his collection in the Gen Next category at the forthcoming Lakme India Fashion Week.
Taking inspiration from Decorative Cakes, his spring summer collection 2008 is highly layered and colourful and the sweetness is depicted through the lovely textures and beautiful colour combinations.
Bringing the sweetness in his creation, Designer Arjun has used soothing sweet colours and lovely textures thus naming his collection as “Sweet Tooth”.
The collection comprises of dresses, shorts, tops and skirts with contemporary embroidery, a lot of print, and lace trims. His collection is targeted at a growing, globally fashion conscious Indian market.
The colours used by Arjun are washed out pastels like Cocoa chocolate, Aerial blues, Black, Hellenic pinks and New-day cream with an additional riot of colours to decorate and accessorise the look with flower and bows.
The colour scheme is contemporary using complementary, monochromatic and contrasting combinations like the spring summer outburst of colourful flora and fauna.
“The uniqueness of my collection is deconstruction mixed with asymmetry and emphasis on clear cuts and crisp lines. The collection is targeted at a growing globally fashion conscious Indian market, who is experimenting with a lot of style and colours in their dressing” says Arjun Agarwal.
