When Narendra Kumar does a men's wear show, there are always few surprises he has up his sleeve. From the start of the 'Nan Khatai' band walking down the ramp playing a popular bridal tune; it was evident that the show was going to be a festive one at Lakme Fashion Week.

It was western bridal wear with an Indian touch and the icing on the cake was the appearance of Bollywood superstar John Abraham who made several appearances on the ramp to a wildly cheering audience.

Trying to persuade Indian grooms to go for the western option; Narendra chose a collection of fabrics ranging from printed silk, brocade, chino, corduroy, velvet and very shimmering specially coated linen for the ornate look.

The silhouettes were very lean for both the trousers and jackets with the two rear vents style for the latter, narrow lapels, tapered waist, two button closure and short length.

The colour story started with shades of grey, blue and beige and then moved into some shimmering brocades. The embellishments appeared either in tonal or muted tones on shoulders, armholes, plackets and shawl collars.

Throwing in some semi formal wear for the groom, Narendra had some distressed jeans, shredded appliqués on satin blousons and comfortable Bermudas with pocket detailing.

The bundgalas or Jodhpuri jackets were cut close to the body with all over restrained embellishment. The white finale wedding jacket with mandarin collar shimmering with large ornate work was an elegant garment.

The footwear was as jewelled as the garments with silver and blue flowers and glittering styles all created by Joy shoes.

Narendra Kumar's stylish offering of western bridal wear with some exotic touches will definitely encourage the cyber generation to walk down the aisle or take the Saat Pheras.
