Nitin Bal Chauhan is a man of many talents. Designer, photographer, film maker and anything that he can give his creative touches to - the designer does a great job.

His collection for Spring/Summer 2008 at the Lakme Fashion Week had a line of black and white western women's wear that was so intricately crafted that the garments almost looked like sculpted pieces.

Thin cotton panels were used in black to form geometric designs on the white base for dresses, pencil skirts, trousers and form fitting jackets and blouses.

The look was inspired by the European battle costumes of the 17th and 18th century but moulded to suit the women of the 21st new millennium.

From the start of a black and white dress very slim and nearly pencil thin (resembling the look of the 50s) Nitin moved to a waisted dress, a skirt and blouse combo and the trousers with short cropped tops.

The hemlines were very edgy with sharp Vs and the accompanying footwear matched the black and white theme of the range and Nitin added on clutch bags and even a Napoleon like hat.

Here was a collection which is strong of character and design and will appeal to women who crave to impress with their personality, charm and of course their choice of ensembles.
