Excellent growth in Raymond branded retail apparel biz

Raymond Limited announced its un-audited financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2007. Net Revenue for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 was at Rs 374.5 crores.

On a like-to-like basis, excluding the results of the erstwhile denim division, the net revenues for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007 have increased by 8% to Rs 374.5 crores as compared to Rs 345.7 crores in the same quarter of the previous year.

The Net profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ended September 30, 2007 was at Rs 30.7 crores.

The textile division has registered an increase in net sales by 6% to Rs 303.6 crores. The net sales of files & tools division was down by 4% to Rs 41.5 crores.

Announcing the results, Mr. Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Limited said, “Our branded retail apparel business has continued to witness excellent growth.

We are focused on increasing our retail presence and expanding our network. The increasing raw material costs and rupee fluctuations are a challenge.

But we believe that with our inherent strengths we will continue to grow rapidly and capitalize on the unfolding opportunities.”
