Also included amongst the extraordinary results today was a fine and rare platinum automatic perpetual calendar minute repeating wristwatch, Patek Philippe, ref.5013P, which fetched CHF 721,000 ($641,000); a gold perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with moon-phases, Patek Philippe, circa 1965 (Ref. 2499J), which sold for CHF 517,000 ($ 459,985), a white gold automatic wristwatch with perpetual calendar and moon-phases, Patek Philippe, dated circa 1970, Ref. 3448G which brought CHF 445,000 ($395,925); and an exceptional gold Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona wristwatch in excellent condition which sold for CHF 175,000 ($155,701) against a pre-sale estimate of 65,000-85,000. These strong prices demonstrate the continuing demand for timepieces of great quality and Sotheby's ability to bring fresh and rare pieces to auction.
