NRF Annual Convention to feature design industry

When it comes to fashion, one man stands out among the others as a pinnacle in the industry. Tim Gunn, Chief Creative Officer at Liz Claiborne Inc, is largely responsible for fashion's emergence into mainstream society and serves as the primary force behind Parson's The New School for Design's repositioning as the leader in fashion design education.

The National Retail Federation is honored to welcome Tim Gunn to their Annual Convention and EXPO, January 13 – 16, 2008 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. Gunn will speak during a session entitled, “Leveraging Product Innovation to Win the Hearts of Consumers,” on Tuesday, January 15 at 1:45 p.m. in Room Hall E, 1E12/13.

Joining the stage with Gunn will be Janet Hoffman, Managing Director-Retail, North America, Accenture and Michael Kobold, Founder of Kobold Watch Company.

An avid entrepreneur, Michael Kobold has launched 12 companies including the Kobold Watch Company, which manufactures wristwatches for professional use and rivals other well-known industry brands. Kobold also gives motivational speeches throughout the world to schools and universities and has developed the Embrace Earth initiative to increase eco-system awareness.

Gunn, Kobold and Hoffman will be discussing how innovative product design has changed the way customers view their favorite retailers and how companies are embedding product innovation into the fiber of their organization. As entrepreneurs and business experts, this panel will deliver exciting content and discussion material.
