During Fashion Rio and São Paulo Fashion Week, the Texbrasil Program presented the 36 target countries selected for 2008.
They are: Africa: South Africa, Angola and Egypt. South America: Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. Central America: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. North America: Canada, United States and Mexico. Asia: China, South Korea and Japan. Europe: Germany, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Holland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia, Sweden and Turkey. Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Arab Emirates and Israel. Oceania: Australia.
The methodology applied to define the target countries considered the collection and analysis of macro economic data of 49 priority countries; as well as foreign trade information, relevant to the textile and apparel sector.
The information collected and analyzed are: the macro economic data of the country; the commercial volumes established with the World, with Brazil and with the companies of Texbrasil Program; existence of commercial agreements; current position of brazilian products on the market that was analyzed; main players on the market that was analyzed; 2006 GDP of the referred market; exchange rate of the local currency in relation to real; geographic position; actions performed by TEXBRASIL Program and GDP Per capita.
