Last season he brought the glory of the Yao Tribe – People of the Golden Triangle and kept the audience enthralled with his collection. He is a couturier par excellence and he is the ultimate showman when it comes to a fashion presentation.

Against a backdrop of giant screens depicting a forest and a ramp lined with dried leaves and flickering street lights; Arjun Khanna closed the first day of the Lakme Fashion week with his stupendous Autumn/Winter 2008 collection.

Titled the Sandstorm, the show opened with a bronzed bare chest model with a bone neck piece and floral dyed pants.

32 models presented 62 creations in mono Sepia - a colour palette working around a tie and dye technique.

Depicting the vast barren mood of the sandstorm; Arjun unleashed a line of men's wear in western and India silhouettes, each a work of supreme tailoring.

Supremo of the Bandhgala and the Jodhpur Pant (with zippers at the front and back – an interesting innovation in Indian fashion), Arjun kept his silhouettes constant as crisply cut Jodhpur trousers were teamed with a variety of jackets, bomber jackets, sherwanis, kurtas in leather, suede, heavy grade cotton, velvet, net, corduroy, wool and metallic silk

Detailing revolved around smocking, batik, zig-zag, grill, striped, butta, chevron, embroidery, quilting, cutwork, leather piping for neck and sleeves, stenciling, embossing in colours that ranged from beige, copper, brown, moss green, chocolate and black.
