Marimekko's local distributor in Japan, Look Inc, set up a new Marimekko concept store (138 sqm) in Sendai on 23 August 2008.

This is the twelfth Marimekko store in Japan. During this autumn three more stores will open in Japan, two stores in Osaka and one in Hiroshima. After these openings, there will be a total of 15 Marimekko concept stores and shop-in-shops in Japan.

The address of the Sendai concept store is:
5F Sendai PARCO, 1-2 Chuo Aoba-ku, Sendai city, Miyagi, Japan

Run by independent retailers, Marimekko concept stores are shops that sell exclusively Marimekko products and carry a comprehensive selection of merchandise from all the different Marimekko lines: clothing, interior decoration and bags.

Developing and anchoring the concept store idea based on Marimekko's lifestyle thinking represents an important part in Marimekko's internationalisation strategy.

Marimekko's objective is to grow and succeed in the international arena as a Finnish design company that has a strong identity. Business development primarily focuses on organic growth.
