The Special Projects For This Edition
Gherardini - celebrating 125 years of style: a retrospective exhibition of the fashion house's iconic products. Gherardini continues its style journey by reclaiming historical items from its archives and revamping them in a modern key using precious, luxury materials. Gherardini will be celebrating its 125th anniversary with a retrospective exhibition of its iconic products. From the now famous Bellona, re-proposed in jacquard fabric, to the small Ghe bag, and Dodicidodici (1959).
Polimoda presents TOTEM: Thinking about the Future of Fashion A special project at Pitti W n.7 will be the video-photographic exhibition “Totem. Thinking about the Future of Fashion”, curated by Polimoda International Institute Fashion Design & Marketing. In the interpretations of the Polimoda students, the new trends of fashion will be presented as real “totems”: giant and provocative silhouettes as representations of the future of fashion. Photos by Ruggero Lupo Mengoni, stylist WoWo Kraus.
Gareth Pugh, The Pitti Guest Designer Gareth Pugh is the women's fashion Pitti guest designer: the British designer's presence in Florence will be celebrated on the evening of Thursday 13 January, with an event and a special site-specific performance in an exceptional location in Florence - Orsanmichele.
