E-tailers will join Fashion's Night Out

Fashion's Night Out announced the beginning of national retailer registration at for year three of the world's premier shopping event. Scheduled for September 8 in the United States, Fashion's Night Out will be even bigger and better than in years past.

Retailers in more than 100 cities across the country joined New York City in celebration in 2010 by tempting shoppers with celebrity and designer appearances, special products, and musical performances. Thousands on each coast, and from numerous cities in between, took to the streets to shop their beloved fashion haunts and to discover new favorites.

“We've come a long way in three years, and thankfully, the fashion industry is much healthier than when we started in 2009, but it could always be better,” said Anna Wintour, Vogue editor in chief. “We're very proud of the excitement and level of traffic the initiative has inspired over the last two years, and we are eager to see the kinds of events retailers will create to turn all that wonderful enthusiasm into even greater sales this year.”

New This Year:
Fashion e-tailers will be able to join in the fun by creating virtual events, to take place on September 8, that will engage shoppers and give fashionistas without FNO in their area a way to celebrate.

Polyvore collaboration:

As a way to generate more buzz and excitement, FNO will team up with Polyvore on a promotion beginning August 15 that will showcase merchandise from e-tailers and retailers with e-commerce. In addition to inviting Polyvore fans to create sets of their favorite fashion items, Vogue editors and celebrity fashionistas will create their own sets to inspire users in the days leading up to FNO.

Fashion's Night Out Collection: Deadline for wholesale orders is April 26, 2011.

Retailers will also have an opportunity to order the new 2011 FNO Collection which has expanded to include a unisex baseball cap, a tote, and a new multi colored fashion print available in women's short-sleeved and long-sleeved styles. FNO's classic signature tee returns for men and women with a new take on the classic night-scene graphic in both white and heather gray. As in years past, 40 percent of the proceeds will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the Community Trust. In 2010, FNO raised more than $500k for the fight against AIDS.

Fashion's Night Out (FNO) is an unprecedented global initiative created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry's economy. In the United States, the program is a collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York. On September 8,2011, Fashion's Night Out will return to New York City and cities nationwide to put the fun back in shopping, with designer appearances, live windows, celebrity guests, and other special events.
