After serving for 12 years as creative director, Riccardo Tisci has left the LVMH-owned fashion house Givenchy. The Italian designer is credited with resurrecting Givenchy’s womenswear, menswear and accessories. Tisci became famous for his distinctive graphic sweatshirts, sportswear-inspired apparel, and highly embellished collections of haute couture.

“The chapter Riccardo Tisci has written with the house of Givenchy over the last 12 years represents an incredible vision to sustain its continuous success, and I would like to warmly thank him for his core contribution to the house’s development,” LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault said in a statement.

“I have very special affection for the House of Givenchy and its beautiful teams,” Tisci said. “I want to thank the LVMH group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”

Although LVMH does not disclose separate figures for each house, Givenchy is one of the company’s most successful luxury brands. In fact, Tisci was among the first to design for Kim Kardashian West, and he even designed her wedding dress in 2014.

LVMH has not immediately named the successor to Tisci’s position. (RKS)
