Inaugurating the first exclusive store in Chennai, Swaraj Salwan, Manager, Planet Sports, informed that 15 more stores are planned to be added this year, taking the total to 45 stores.
Of the proposed 15 stores, 10 would be exclusive outlets, whereas the other five would be set up inside Pantaloon stores as they have a 49 percent stake in Planet Sports.
Planet Sports has reached a turnover of Rs 50 crore last financial year and hopes to double the same this year.
It has signed up tennis player Prakash Amritraj for popularizing their products.
The US brand Guess would set up five to seven Guess stores across metros, as per the agreement inked, said Salwan.
The company already has exclusive rights of global brands which include Wilson, Puma, Speedo and Converse, besides leading brands like Reebok, Nike and Adidas.
