The fading French fashion label ‘House of Emanuel Ungaro’ has been given a new lease of life by the Italian firm ‘Aeffe’. The French brand has signed a license deal with the Italian fashion house which owns labels like Moschino and Alberta Ferretti.

According to the newly signed agreement, Aeffe will have the production and worldwide distribution rights of all Ungaro’s women’s clothing and accessory brands. The license will be valid for the next seven years, with an additional option to renew.

The deal also grants an option to the Italian firm to purchase a considerable amount of share in Ungaro’s capital stock, but only after the year 2020.

In an attempt to pep up sales and bring back the lost glory, Ungaro has also appointed a new creative director ‘Fausto Puglisi’.

Under the artistic guidance of the Sicily-born New York-based fashion designer ‘Puglisi’, the once-fabled couture house plans to return to the next season of Paris Fashion Week in March 2013. The French couturier has not showcased a catwalk collection since October 2011.

In the past, the young designer ‘Puglisi’ has dressed various international celebrities like Beyonce Knowles, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna.
