Veer NYC unveils androgynous fashion for women

Androgyny, tomboy style, and menswear are hot trends in fashion, but there is still a need in the marketplace for those who seek genuine androgynous style. The fashion industry has seen a slew of “menswear-inspired” options join the scene, leaving the true grey area still unfulfilled – until now.

Co-founders Jenny McClary and Allie Leepson realized the need—and the opportunity—from their own experiences searching for clothing to suit their aesthetic and their identities. Explains Leepson, “there is clearly a ‘right’ way to wear clothing, and cultivating your own style while shopping is usually not encouraged.” McClary adds, “it counters the core beauty of fashion itself: freedom of expression.” So McClary and Leepson decided that it was time these barriers were broken, and time to create a home for women who prefer to dress without rules.

Early promotion through crowd-sourcing and social media has already generated a potential client base of more than 4,000 people, and the response to a sold-out fashion show in SoHo this past March was enthusiastic. The time is right: Veer NYC will launch its debut collection online in coordination with New York Fashion Week (NYFW) on September 5th, 2013.

The online store will boast an incredible roster of over 20 emerging international women’s wear, menswear and unisex brands, including Dzojchen, Kill City, Claudia Ligari, Sons of Heroes, Sloane & Tate, Muttonhead, Zanerobe, COMUNE and more.

Veer NYC celebrates all who bring style and personality to their clothing. The brand prides itself on being more than a fashion brand; Veer NYC represents a culture and destination for women who take risks, define their own journeys, and aren’t afraid to make fashion work for themselves.
