One of the biggest retail giants Wal-Mart is facing extinction in the fashion apparel category with customer not ready to accept it as a fashion store.
Casual approach adopted by the company has not helped the matter either and it needs solid and shrewd analysis and implementation of ideas to blossom.
Claire Watts, Executive Vice-President for apparel told that one of the most daunting tasks was to change people's perception as they hardly think Wal-Mart as fashion hub.
A survey showed that nearly 130 million customers shop from Wal-Mart's 3,200 US stores a week but just 45 percent of them visit the entire store and further 40 percent of regulars stick to low-margins. In the process, they bypass the costly apparel section which gives highest profit margins to Wal-Mart.
