Alix Morabito from Galleries Lafayette , France's most famous department store is in India to search new designers with new things and talent as Europe has become congested with designers.
She has been compelled to search Indian designers when she came to know about the buzz Indian designers created at the London Fashion Week.
She came to India without any expectations and has been pleasantly surprised from what she has seen. She is trying to find out designers who can sell their designs from department store.
Anamika Khanna (AnaMika) and Shantanu and Nikhil are the designers who have caught the attention of Morabito. She says that she is looking out for designer who has the ability to use pieces of textile and create good cuts and excellent fits.
She stated that she is looking out for someone who design sensibility irrespective of where they belong to and has found out Ashish Soni and Rajesh Pratap Singh in the same lane.
Alix liked Rajesh Pratap's clothes and is taking back quotes to find out how they will translate as saleable prices. The day may not be far when dresses designed by Indian designers will be on sale in the biggest departmental store in Paris.
