Tween Brands, Inc. announced the appointment of Sandra L. West to the position of Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Human Resources Officer.Ms. West will assume her responsibilities effective January 2, 2007, replacing Ronald Sykes, Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Sykes, who has served as the chief human resource officer since October 2000, has announced his retirement effective March 1, 2007.
Commenting on the new appointment, Tween Brands' Chairman, President and CEO Mike Rayden said, “Sandy will bring both the retail and executive human resource leadership experience necessary for our organization's continued growth. Her diverse retail experience and record of community involvement make her a great fit for the continuing development of our company's human resources.”
Ms. West most recently retired from the position of executive vice president of human resources with Limited Brands, Inc., after 18 years with the corporation. Her career also included 14 years with Federated Department Stores. Within both retail companies, she held varying positions of increasing responsibility in stores, direct marketing, merchandising, and corporate human resources.
Ms. West has served on several community-based organization boards, including the Board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Board for the YWCA.
