Well-known for her outfit 'Nude Couture', Abisola Kasali opened her fashion boutique last Sunday at City Mall, Abisola. The pleasing personality has more than 12 years experience in clothing business.
Mall owners who have been her customers since 2004 invited her to open a store there. In 2006, she also felt the need to have a place that was central in order to show Nigerians what she was capable of in fashion retailing and this mall perfectly fit the bill.
As for prices of her clothes, her tops line ranges from N4,000 to N40,000. Her collection is not a reflection of her own style, but in fact it is more of the style of her inspiring clientele that she has developed over the years. Now at a time when the Victorian style is back, her style is mixed and very unpredictable.
She says that if you are going for an event, dress to suit the occasion. But if one is going for two, three events and you have to dress to suit the most important one, it is okay to look either overdressed or underdressed for the other two events.
To understand fashion one need not be in the elite bracket. Fashion to one person could be a skirt, for another it could be a wrapper. She hopes some day she will be able to make it big and have her own label.
According to her, creative Nigerian designers are best in the world. Not surprisingly, her wishful thinking is that it is about time a Nigerian designer won an award for the best designer worldwide.
