Andana, the new 800 square feet high class footwear outlet which opened at 1045, Swarthmore recently, is being eyed by local businessmen and citizens for its smooth designs. Andana is adjacent to maternity clothing boutique Tabitha.

Its glowing spaces with tall ceilings and red furniture like quilted leather daybeds initially lure customers, owners Andreea Benuciu and Daniela Vasile noted. But then they discover the elegant collection of manmade shoes by Italian and Spanish designers, leather handbags, jewellery, wallets, belts and hats showcased on shelves in a tall glass display case.

A metal board with the boutique's name written in curvy Bauhaus style is hung over three tall bar tables in the front window of Andana.

Store aims to offer ladies footwear which is stylish yet comfy, with prices starting at $379. Andana's shoes don't comply with any fashion trends as they are timeless, says Andreea.

To make wearing heels comfortable for ladies, shoes have been designed with cushioned leather insoles. Andreea says 80 percent stock in the store is shoes, comprising designs of Alberto Fermani and Twenty Two. Several styles are uniquely designed for Andana to make shoppers feel that they are purchasing a collector's item.

Also displayed are accessories like Pia Tonna handbags, jewellery by Double Happiness, leather bracelets by Dillon Rogers, Icon wallets and purses.
