Retailer's reports on February same-store sales or sales from stores that have been opened for at least a year are out this week.

Abercrombie & Fitch, which owns the Hollister and Ruehl chains, announced a 6 percent drop in February sales. Despite its February downturn, Abercrombie has been on a multiyear roll. February sales at Hollister were down 9 percent.

The sales at Pacific Sunwear are struggling as its same-store sales were down 5.7 percent. The company also owns hip-hop retailer Demo, which was a further drag on sales. The sale at Limited and Express is not shining.

American Eagle Outfitters sale was up 6 percent. The US based Surfing and skating gears retailer Zumiez reported a 12.4 percent increase in same-store sales, Limited Brands' Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works stores continued to soar.

Retailers dealing in casual clothing are among the steadiest performers.
