Atlantic Station announced that H&M, the popular Swedish fashion store, will open its first Southeast location here early next year. The H&M flagship will include 25,000-square feet of space overlooking Central Park and in Atlantic Station's "Fashion Avenue on 18th Street."

Established in 1947, H&M's business concept is to offer fashion and quality at the best price. There are some 1,400 H&M stores in 28 countries, including U.S. locations such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago and Washington, D.C.

"H&M is one of the hottest retailers on the planet. By choosing Atlantic Station, they are making a statement about where fashion is trending in the region," said Brian Leary, Vice President, AIG Global Real Estate, the developer of Atlantic Station.

"We've created an in-town shopping district that provides a mix of local, national and international fashion plates - an address where such a star as H&M will feel quite at home."

H&M has a wide product range that includes a number of different clothing concepts for women, men, teenagers, and children, as well as accessories and lingerie.

The company's clothing collections are created by its own in-house designers, pattern makers and buyers as well as collaborations with top designers and style icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Roberto Cavalli.

H&M joins a number of leading retailers that have chosen to locate in Atlantic Station, including a new multi-story Target and fashionable Swedish housewares giant IKEA, which was also a first for the Southeast.

Atlantic Station includes more than 60 retailers, including recognized brands such as American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Dillard's, Express , GUESS? , Old Navy, West Elm, GAP and Victoria's Secret, among many others.
